Abstract

Dr Liversedge was appointed as an NHS Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust in 2000.

He has extensive experience in all areas of gynaecology. His interests include menstrual disorders and their management, fibroids (including uterine artery embolisation and myomectomy), laparoscopic surgery (including ovarian cysts / endometriosis / adhesions), prolapse, incontinence, colposcopy and pelvic pain. He trained in advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery and has colposcopy accreditation. He undertakes outpatient hysteroscopy as well as endometrial ablation under local as well as general anaesthetic. He performs gynaecological ultrasound scanning at the time of consultation where this may be helpful in the management of my patients.

Whilst he screens for gynaecological cancers, he does not undertake gynaecological cancer surgery. With the exception of sterilisation reversal and laparoscopic tubal patency assessment, he does not currently undertake fertility treatments. He has significant experience in female chronic pelvic pain management, providing an NHS service with an anaesthetist colleague.
